Yangdong Village.
This village originate from Joseon dynasty. But there was people from BC. 4th century. It is located near by Gyeongju city which is famous for capital city of Silla dynasty(BC57 ~ 935). Actually many people think that Seoul is the all of Korea but Gyeongju is the real essence of the Korea. e.g. Bulkuksa Buddhist temple, Seokguram, Cheomseongdae, Tumuli park, East palace, Weolseong, Namsan Wallless Museum, Gyeongju National museum, etc.
Let's back to the Yangdong village. In my opinion, you should visit here if you go to the Gyeongju city. It is UNESCO world heritage. It is family village of family name of Son and Lee. These two men was son in law. They married and come to the Yangdong village and lived with wife's family. So this village is a kind of matriarchal society as well as aristocratic society.
According to the feng shui (geomancy), it is believed that three famous people will be born here, there were two famous people and one people is still expecting.
I was born here. I proud of it.
Introduction:
Gyeongju Yangdong Village (양동마을) is Korea’s largest traditional village, showcasing the traditional culture of the Joseon Dynasty and the beautiful natural surroundings. Thanks to its many cultural heritages, including treasures, national treasures, and folklore materials, the entire village has been designated as a cultural heritage site. Many people have visited this village to see its wealth of cultural heritages and scenic surroundings. Charles, Prince of Wales, visited this village in 1993.
Mt. Seolchangsan and its four spines of mountains can be seen beyond the village. Approximately 160 old houses and 500-year-old thatched-roof cottages are nestled within the valley. Fifty-four of these homes, are over 200 years old and have been excellently preserved in their original state, offering a rare opportunity to view a variety of unique Korean traditional houses in person.

I never tried yet. May be I have to try next time with private tourists.
I saw the "Snow of the cherry blossoms". It was so amazing to see the falling flowers which looks like snow.
